In order for VirtualVoiceLessons.net instructors to evaluate your progress and provide specific feedback to you, simply follow the steps shown below. Once you have completed these steps, you will receive an email within one week. The email will outline your strengths and weaknesses, provide specific tips for you, and refer you to lessons and exercises to help address any areas of concern.
Step 1: Film Yourself Singing
In order to fully assess your strengths and weaknesses, we need to see AND hear you sing. Do not worry about the quality of the audio as we can recognize and adjust for poor quality. Just be sure the volume is adequate and the room is well lit so that we can see you clearly. Here are some tips to help you:
- Position the camera in front of you and slightly to one side.
- Film yourself from the waist up. Make sure the video clearly shows the stomach area to the top of the head.
- You can use one of the VirtualVoiceLessons.net exercises, karaoke backing tracks (which can be found on Youtube), or sing ‘a capella’ (without music). Please choose music or an exercise that you find difficult.
- If you are not familiar with Youtube, you may want to learn more about their format requirements before filming/editing the video.
